Rapper & Producer Sean Garrett spoke with music blog Rap-Up about working with Brandy & Chris Brown on the new single, “Put It Down” (from album Two-Eleven).
Mr.Garrett also revealed the theme and title to a new song from Brandy’s upcoming album. The song is called, “Sick” and is produced by Bangladesh. Watch the video below to get all the details.
We’ve all heard the buzz that one of music’s most respected talents is prepping for what is rumored to be a monster comeback.
After a year of recording, R&B singer Brandy is finally ready to release her sixth studio album an RCA Records debut, intimately titled Two Eleven in honor of her birthday and the day her icon, Whitney Houston, became her angel.
At the helm of the project is mega producer/songwriter Sean Garrett. He sat down with Sister 2 Sister for an exclusive interview about what he has done to make this new album a timeless masterpiece.
“We developed a new swag on Brandy other than her voice. This generation is about swag; it’s about style – a lot more than just singing,” explained Sean. “You’re not going to listen to this album and say any of the songs could work for anyone but Brandy.”

Brandy is coming back hard. Sean Garrett has been in the lab diligently working on the R&B veteran’s sixth album, her first since signing to RCA/Chameleon Records. The hitmaker spoke exclusively with Rap-Up.com about developing a current, yet fresh sound with today’s top hitmakers including Bangladesh, Hit-Boy, and Tha Bizness, while staying true to her R&B roots. “I wanted to take this opportunity to really try to bring R&B back,” explained Garrett, who also teased with details about the hip-hop-influenced first single, which will feature a surprise guest and is expected to arrive before Christmas. With hopes of placing those heels back atop a once promenaded pop plateau, R&B veteran Brandy has had fans buzzing with promises of new music in the new year. And, while faithful followers of the ‘Full Moon’ maestra are keeping up with her on the acting front (see: 90210, Drop Dead Diva), she has been hard at work crafting a ‘futuristic R&B album’ with R&B bad boy Chris Brown, Rico Love, Bangladesh, and Frank Ocean all signing on for writing/producing credits.
