Singer-actress Brandy knows Louisville is the place to be on the first Saturday in May.
The “Moesha” star is slated to be a guest at former University of Louisville basketball standout and NBA star Darrell Griffith’s annual Derby bash — the Smirnoff Darrell Griffith Foundation Experience.
It’s under way from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. May 4 in the Kentucky International Convention Center’s Cascade Ballroom.
BET and its spinoff, Centric, will both be on hand taping the party, which is in its 21st year. Kid Capri, who is known as the “Michael Jordan of DJs,” according to Griffith — aka “Dr. Dunkenstein” — will spin tunes.
The party is sponsored by Smirnoff, Crown Royal, BET, Centric, Churchill Downs, PNC Bank, LG&E, Yum! Brands, B96.5 and Magic 101.3. Proceeds benefit various local charities.
Tickets, $75, go on sale Friday. You can pick them up at all Penn Station locations, f.y.e. in Mall St. Matthews and Better Days Records in Lyles Mall.
