Charities & Community Service

The Norwood Kids Foundation
Brandy is an avid supporter of her own organization, The Norwood Kids foundation as well as an International UNICEF Spokesperson. However, these aren't the only institutions aided through her time & resources. The following is a list of causes that have benefited from Brandy's humanitarian spirit over the years.
The NKF, founded in 1996, is dedicated to enriching the cultural life of youth through its program communities: The Performing Arts Community, The NK Digital Community, The NK Academic Community and The NK Explore Community. Each program community is designed to provide safe and transformational havens for participants by offering them structured, supervised and productive alternatives during the hours that they are most vulnerable to juvenile delinquency, crime and teen pregnancy. As the organization strives to promote professional, civic, creative and social development amongst participants, it continues to serve as a catalyst for ongoing exposure to various aspects of the arts as well as a source of inspiration for our youngest and most valuable generation.

July 28, 1999 Brandy is named the first INTERNATIONAL SPOKESPERSON FOR YOUTH by the U.S. Committee for UNICEF. As the INTERNATIONAL SPOKESPERSON FOR YOUTH, Brandy speaks out to help improve the lives of future generations of children living in the developing world. Her leadership role has influenced future generations of adults to commit themselves to volunteerism and improve conditions for children across the globe. Her first function, to help increase awareness for the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign, raised over $3million dollars.
As Brandy's role grows with the U.S. Committee for UNICEF, she will follow in the tradition of UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, Audrey Hepburn, and visit UNICEF projects abroad to see and experience firsthand the children who are being served by UNICEF.
